The Director of Military Operations and Intelligence

presents his compliments to the Under Secretary of State for

the Colonies and, with reference to his letter No.72723/1930

of 20th May, 1930, begs to inform him that the alteration to

the titles of the Hong Kong 1/20,000 series map will be put

in hand forthwith.

Mejor-General J.R.E. Charles wishes to point out,

however, that the title to which objection has been raised

was extracted from a telegram dated 24th April, 1929, from

the Governor of Hong Kong to the Under Secretary of State

for the Colonies. in which he states the word Territory is

the correct term. It is assumed that your letter under

reply overrules this statement.
